How does Douglas Telecom's VoIP system work?

International Toll Free Numbers

Our toll free number service can be activated as part of a full VoIP incoming and outgoing phone service, or you can choose to have calls made to your own toll free number routed to your cell phone, home phone or any telephone number of your choice. The full VoIP service features caller ID, call waiting, voicemail and real-time telephone number management. You will be able to access detailed call information about any calls dialed or received on your line(s), even while the call is still in progress, simply by logging into your online account.

The charge for each toll free line is only $5.00 per month. Incoming and outgoing domestic calls are billed in increments of 1 second, with charges rounded up to the nearest cent. Only calls lasting longer than 30 seconds will be billed. The lower 48 states are billed at 3.75 cents per minute; AK, HI, VI and PR at 27 cents per minute and Canada at 12 cents per minute. There is a payphone surcharge of 75 cents per call.

VoIP subscribers will also have access to our competitive international rates. Advanced services such as directory listings, customized outgoing caller ID and customized call processing are optional add-ons to any of our telephone services.

For a fully functional ingoing and outgoing toll free line, you will need to have a high-speed Internet connection, such as DSL or cable Internet, and a VoIP adapter or VoIP router (or you can order one when signing up for service). Neither a router nor an Internet connection are necessary if you are going to have your toll free number forwarded to a traditional landline or cell phone number.
